How many phases of the moon are there?
New York was one of the thirteen colonies. The first Europeans to settle in what is now New York were from Holland and chose Manhattan Island as their home. The city that they founded was New Amsterdam (which we then named New York). All tribes were friendly with the Dutch, however. The Dutch settlement prospered, so much that the Dutch West India Company began trading. English settlers moved into the New York area in later years, mostly because of the explorations of Henry Hudson (who, ironically, had discovered land and waterways while in the employ of the Dutch East India Company). The English reinforced their hold on the New York colony in the 18th Century, importing royal governors and installing English societal traditions. The port of New York City grew into a major shipping presence, with American goods heading out daily to the Mother Country and receiving all manner of cargo from England, other European countries, and the Caribbean. Have you ever been to New York? Was It Fun? Was it boring? Is it your favorite city? Do you want to go?
The San Jose Mission was built in 1782. It is still an active mission today, some people still get married in the chapel. It was founded by Father Antonio Margil de Jesús. Have you ever been to the San Jose Mission in San Antonio, I have. What did you do? When did you go? Was it fun? Was it big, small, huge, or giant? If you haven't would you like to? Do you think it would be fun or boring? I was a leader when I started working on the Discovery Education Assignment early. I completed one assignment and I am working on, The second one.
